Here are some tips you can use -
Start a 'ME' diary. Think about what you want to achieve. You may want to put a photograph of when you felt your best on the first page. Keep your diary updated on how you feel and the progress you are making.
Try on a piece of clothing that you liked wearing that might feel a little snug and use this item of clothing to measure progress by. Take your measurements - waist, hips, thighs, arms and weight.
Choose exercises / classes that you enjoy so that it doesn't become a chore - but do challenge yourself. Keep it exciting so you remain motivated.
Fit your exercise regime into 2-5 days per week. Stay focused and believe in yourself.
Every 6 to 8 weeks, try on that piece of clothing you chose and take your weight and measurements again. Remember that as you exercise and tone up, you will develop muscle mass. Muscle weighs more than fat, so don't be disheartened if you don't see a reduction of weight on the scales.
Set yourself realistic goals and aim to look your best - for you - and not according to some unrealistic image from a fashion magazine.
Remember that if your diet is good 80% of the time, you can treat yourself! Your diet and exercise regime should complement each other. But don't undo all your good work by eating unhealthy foods after a great workout.
